HIGHLIGHTS

Randy Bradbury, a prominent musician known for his role as the bassist of Pennywise, has deep roots in Southern California that profoundly influenced his musical journey. His early exposure to iconic venues like the legendary Fender’s Ballroom and influential bands such as Black Flag and Bad Religion shaped his musical sensibilities and fueled his passion for punk rock.

He joined Pennywise in October 1996 when founding bass player Jason Thirsk took a leave of absence to go to rehab for alcohol addiction. Bradbury was supposed to switch to rhythm guitar when Thirsk returned, but it never happened due to Thirsk’s suicide in 1996. Bradbury played bass for early punk pioneers The Falling Idols, bass for the last Tender Fury album, as well as playing bass on the first two albums by One Hit Wonder before leaving to join Pennywise. He has a tattoo of Jack Bruce on his arm.

Through Pennywise, Randy Bradbury continues to embody the spirit of Southern California punk, blending aggression with melody while addressing social and political issues. His journey from the beaches of SoCal to international stages underscores the region’s enduring influence on punk rock and his own evolution as a musician dedicated to both the music and the message it carries.
