Jason Thirsk, a musician best known for his pivotal role as the bassist and co-founder of Pennywise, was deeply shaped by his upbringing in Southern California. He grew up in Hermosa Beach, California.
Pennywise was formed in 1988 by Thirsk along with singer Jim Lindberg, guitarist Fletcher Dragge, and drummer Byron McMackin. Thirsk’s contributions to Pennywise, including his songwriting and heartfelt performances, continue to influence musicians and fans alike. His legacy lives on through his music and the spirit of rebellion he championed throughout his life. At the age of 28, he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
