Raymond Kinman is a master woodcarver who began his career in 1977 out of necessity when his wife became pregnant, and he carved his first sign for a friend’s restaurant in exchange for meals. His career later included a long-standing relationship with Disney, where he created iconic pieces like the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost sign and the original Splash Mountain sign. Today, he works from his studio in Grass Valley, California, and is known for his hand-carved, traditional pieces, which range from signs and doors to serving platters.
