KLOS 95.5 FM has been a cornerstone of the Southern California music scene since its debut in 1969. Initially focusing on album-oriented rock (AOR), KLOS quickly became known for its influential playlists and dedication to showcasing both established rock icons and emerging talent.
Throughout the decades, KLOS has played a pivotal role in promoting rock music across Southern California. The station’s iconic DJs, like Jim Ladd and Frazer Smith, became beloved figures for their deep knowledge of rock history and their ability to connect with listeners.
The KLOS rainbow stickers:

…were known collectively as “Too Hip” stickers, a phrase that came from KLOS DJ Frazer Smith, who would close out his show by saying, “Too hip. Gotta go.” The stickers achieved their iconic popularity during his first stint at KLOS, from 1979 to 1984.
KLOS’s annual events, such as the KLOS Blood Drive and the KLOS Monster Rock Halloween Ball, have also become community staples, uniting fans and artists alike.
