SUMMARY:Waterfront Ultra
DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn April 26th\, 2025 we will be hosting our second annual Waterfront Ultra Charity Race at Project Barley Waterfront in Redondo Beach\, CA. The idea for our event was inspired by the world famous Backyard Ultra Championships created by Lazarus Lake (https://backyardultra.com). After following this event for a number of years\, we thought it would be a fun idea to not only try it ourselves\, but also be of service to our community in the process. Here’s how it works. \nEvery hour on the hour\, racers are required to step up to the starting line and proceed to run 4.167 miles. The race continues every hour until the final hour where it becomes a race for time. Simple! Athletes can choose to compete in either a 50 Mile\, 12 hour or a 25 Mile\, 6 hour version of the race and will be allowed to use our designated rest area in the Project Barley Annex while waiting for the next hour to start. Fair warning\, while this area is large enough to hold everyone\, it is not large enough for everyone to lay down while all athletes are still in the race. Be kind to your fellow racer. \nCheck out the Backyard Ultra Documentary\, Just One More Lap\, on YouTube for a better look at what a Backyard Ultra is all about. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRXKZSqvtrw) \nThe Project Barley Waterfront side will be open to the public all day for family and spectators to hang and enjoy live music\, good food\, and a fun hang. Public restrooms are located next door to the location. \nWe are limiting this year’s event to 100 racers. General entry is $50 (plus fee). All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Support Community South Bay. Race day shirt included with all entries. \nThis year’s Waterfront Ultra is designed to be a fun get together of like minded individuals who enjoy fitness\, a good hang\, and giving back to the community. This is not a city sponsored event so please respect the local community as if this were your own backyard. Whether you run one lap or you go all day\, this race is for you to find your own limits. We can’t wait to see everyone on race day!

DESCRIPTION:The third annual YOU ARE ENOUGH Run/Walk 5K is a mental health and wellness event that brings people together from all over Los Angeles and even throughout the country to help one another feel worthy\, seen\, and supported. We will be holding the event at the amazing Hermosa and Manhattan Beach cities on the 3.1 mile course on the Strand between the two beach city piers. We will have a live DJ\, food and beverages\, awesome grab bags\, awards for the top three winners\, and a lot of smiles and hugs. We will also have pre-event wellness sessions in the South Bay where you can learn how to care that much more for your well being. \nPartial proceeds from the event will go towards raising billboards in LA County. Last year we raised four billboards in Redondo Beach\, Gardena\, West Hollywood\, and Inglewood. These billboards are saving lives while also giving folks help and a sense of self and belonging. \nThis campaign is all about sharing the love forward and letting folks know that they are seen and worthy\, even if they may not feel ok. We’ve got your back and hope that you can join us on May 31st!

Seating is first come\, first served! Concerts in the Park are free and well attended; early arrival to obtain prime lawn seating is encouraged. Concert goers are asked to leave pets at home. Use low backed chairs to minimize visibility issues behind you. Don’t block the aisles. Be courteous to others. No smoking in the park. Watch your children\, keep them off the stage and the stage apron. Climbing the trees in the park is not permitted. Place your trash in the bins throughout the park. NO– pets\, barbecues\, skateboards\, scooters\, or roller blades are allowed in the park. Concert staff and security are not responsible for unattended chairs blankets and other picnic items. Please do not remove items (chairs\, blankets\, etc.) that do not belong to you.

SUMMARY:2025 International Surf Festival
DESCRIPTION:Presented by BEACHSPORT.org\, the Chambers of Commerce and Cities of Hermosa Beach\, Manhattan Beach\, Redondo Beach\, Torrance\, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Department of Beaches and Harbors. \nThe 2025 host city for the 62nd International Surf Festival is the City of Torrance. The event promotes the four South Bay beach cities\, the world’s best lifeguard service\, and physical fitness for thousands of participants.  Participants range in age from 8 years old to the late 80’s.  The three signature events for the festival are the Judge Taplin Lifeguard Medley Relay\, the Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim\, and the Charlie Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament.  Other great events include a surfing contest\, bodysurfing contest\, beach run\, paddleboard races\, dory race\, and youth events. The festival has hosted numerous international lifeguard teams including teams from Victoria\, Australia.   \nThe International Surf Festival kick-off dinner is held on the Wednesday prior to the start of the Charley Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament and the Lifeguard Intracrew competition on Friday. The dinner includes the Los Angeles County Fire Department Lifeguard Medal of Valor award ceremony \nThe International Surf Festival is a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation.
